Three quarters of Londoners worrying about their health in lockdown
Worth over $1 billion in the US and riding a growing trend in the UK, hard seltzer is making a big splash and is set to become even bigger as the drink offers healthier and tastier options than a typical glass of wine or bottle of beer.
New research by Bodega Bay has found that over a third of Londoners are drinking more in lockdown and almost three quarters of Londoners are now worried about the impact this could have on their health which is the highest rate throughout the UK.
Beer causes a quarter of Brits to feel guilty and bloated after consuming and there’s a real crying out for more low-calorie and more natural alternatives with half saying they want this.
Hard seltzers are having a big moment right now with some predicting it will soon overtake gin as the trendy drink of the summer due to the many flavour combinations and pairings. They’re also perfect if you fancy something a little stronger. Elderflower pairs perfectly with any white spirits – vodka, gin, tequila – whilst Apple lends its more complex flavours to rums, whiskies and brandies.
While summer may look a bit different this year to the many that came before it, alcohol sales have seen a boost during lockdown with many wanting to experiment with their own cocktails and experimental pairings.
