Tickets are now available to watch chess stars at the Global Chess League in London

Chess enthusiasts can witness chess royalty in London next week, as tickets are available for the Global Chess League. The second season of the league will commence at Friends House, London, from 3rd to 12th October.

The ten-day competition will see the likes of Magnus Carlsen, Hikaru Nakamura and Viswanathan Anand involved, amongst 36 of the world’s best chess players. It is the only league with a joint format, that sees men and women competing on the same team, with every franchise featuring two female players.

The Global Chess League uses a unique franchise format with six teams, consisting of drafted players from various categories, including Icon, Superstar Women and Prodigy. It will be the strongest line up of players at a UK-based chess event in history.

Each team will play each other twice, culminating in a final between the top two franchises on Saturday, 12 October.

Tickets for individual days start at £15, or a season ticket is available for £100, granting access to every event day. In addition to watching the games, tickets give access to player interviews, exclusive fan experiences, and a social chess area for spectators to challenge each other.

This is the second edition of the Global Chess League after last year’s inaugural event in Dubai, where Triveni Continental Kings won the trophy.
