Timeleft Launches in London – The Platform That Connects You With Strangers Over Dinner

Start-up company Timeleft, which connects complete strangers over dinner, has officially arrived in Manchester following its success across major European cities since its launch in May 2023, including Lyon, Bordeaux, Nice, Madrid, Barcelona and Coimbra, among others.

In 2023, London was officially declared the loneliest place to live in the UK. Timeleft aims to help combat this by matching up six complete strangers to meet for the first time around a restaurant table and make meaningful connections, all in a safe environment.

Those that are looking to meet and connect with new people can simply sign up via the website to be paired with other like-minded individuals in locations across London each Wednesday night, including Selina hotel’s Powerplant in Camden.

Dining companions are paired entirely based on compatibility, which is determined by a simple personality test that users are prompted to complete when signing up to the platform. The dinners, which take place every Wednesday at 8pm, can be booked before midnight on Monday, and users will receive further information on the group they’ll be dining with and the name and address of the restaurant, which will be chosen for them, ahead of their dinner date with strangers.

Users can either buy one ticket for £12.90, or for those who want to meet people each week, Timeleft offers a monthly subscription, which starts from £19.90.

Users can sign up now for the first UK dinners, which are taking place on Wednesday 24th January at Selina’s vegan and vegetarian restaurant, Powerplant, in London, followed by afterparties after each dinner so guests can continue the conversations. The afterparty will take place in Powerplant, which also operates as an evening music venue with live music and DJs.

Maxine Barbier, Co-Founder and CEO at Timeleft comments: “Meeting new people and sparking meaningful conversations in-person can often be both difficult and daunting in a digital-first world. At Timeleft, we aim to break those barriers by giving people a safe environment to meet one another so that they can be more involved with the world they live in. We’re incredibly excited to be launching Timeleft into the UK and we look forward to helping even more people to step outside of their comfort zones and enjoy spending quality time with new people.”

Ariel Levinsohn, VP Brand & Creative at Selina comments: “At the heart of Selina is a spirit of community, connecting guests via co-working and communal spaces to create long-lasting and meaningful connections amongst strangers. For us, Timeleft and Selina is the perfect partnership and we are delighted to be working with a brand who shares our same mission.”
