To celebrate National Yorkshire Pudding Day, Aunt Bessie’s is giving away limited-edition Yorkshire pudding flat caps to Yorkshire pud fans
Inspired by the original Yorkshire fashion accessory, the limited-edition merch has been handmade in the UK and colour-matched to the pantone of Aunt Bessie’s iconic Golden Yorkshire Puddings.
Flat caps were first used in the 1570s when, in 1571[1], the English Parliament passed an act that meant all English men over the age of six had to wear a woollen cap on Sundays and holidays. More recently, the flat cap has exploded in popularity as Google Trends reports a 90% increase in demand during the past five years[2]. Similarly, Aunt Bessie’s Yorkshire puddings have also seen a 63% increase in demand over the last five years[3] – ultimately driving the creation of the Aunt Bessie’s Yorkshire pudding flat cap.
The tasty-looking Yorkshire pudding-inspired flat cap will be available to win on Aunt Bessie’s Facebook but fans will need to be quick as there will be a limited number of flat caps up for grabs. To be within a chance of winning, all Yorkshire pudding fans will need to do is comment their favourite way to eat an Aunt Bessie’s Yorkshire pud, on Aunt Bessie’s most recent Yorkshire Pudding Day post, from Friday 4th February.
Louise Grace, Senior Brand Manager at Aunt Bessie’s, said: “Aunt Bessie’s takes pride in celebrating National Yorkshire Pudding Day, and this year we wanted to give back to Aunt Bessie’s fans and provide them with something a little different and fun, to mark the occasion. We hope fans will enjoy the flat caps and we look forward to seeing people across the UK embracing Yorkshire heritage!”
The limited-edition Yorkshire Pudding hat will be available to win from the 4th of February on Aunt Bessie’s Facebook.
