TogliattiAzot (ToAz) is a well-known company manufacturing chemical products but it is more than that. As far as it is known, Carbon dioxide takes part in the formation of the greenhouse effect. This ammonia production waste is used by ToAz to synthesize urea and to make solid and liquid carbon acid. Since carbon dioxide is reused, it is not emitted to the environment.

Togliattiazot has its own biological treatment facilities responsible for the clean-up of wastewater of the plant and some districts of the town, such as of Komsomoksly District and Povolzhsky Settlement. The enterprise has improved the system of purifying wastewater with the construction of a modern ultraviolet purification station. At present, Togliattiazot is upgrading the treatment facilities to be able to recycle up to a third of the wastewater.

ToAz leads the policy for promoting a healthy way of life, thus it takes part in the development of amateur sports. The company has created its own ball hockey, ice hockey, tennis, basketball, volleyball, and futsal teams. It holds plantwide competitions. Each year, there is a bicycle race from the manufacturing site to the House of Culture in Komsomolsky District.
