TOLA Peckham is a late-night bar and music venue in the heart of South London, equipped with a roof terrace, custom-fitted Funktion-One sound system and rotating kitchen residences. On the weekends the dance floor comes to life with an in-house music programme showcasing the best of London’s sound system culture and underground dance music all set within an intimate 200 capacity club. Some of the key players include Heléna Star, Oneman, Holloway with Keep Hush, Sigha, Logos, Lixo and of course a special performance by Cassy. Taking things back to the more personal approach to entry policies of UK rave culture, TOLA offers everyone free entry before 10pm and £10 guest list via sign up thereafter.

Highlights from September listings include curated line-ups from Heléna Star, a Foundation.FM resident and one of the most exciting techno DJs currently in the UK, who is joined by Worldwide FMs Ruby Savage and Percolate resident Niks. Seminal streaming platform and London party-starters Keep Hush make a return after their raucous debut at TOLA in August, this time with esteemed South London selector and producer Holloway, who has seen releases on imprints such as Dr Banana and Shall Not Fade. TOLA themselves invite down techno wizard Sigha, alongside founder of the seminal Boxed parties and one half of the Different Circles imprint; Logos. GETME! Founder Lixo also joins September’s curation duties by inviting down one of the most technically talented and revered DJs to date; Oneman to TOLA and fast rising Garage producer T Dunn.

Other events in September include Ben Hauke and Bluetoof with a special guest, Daughters of Frank’s own club night ‘Club Serenade’ making its TOLA debut and a new party from Brixton Music Community under the guise ‘Itsa Dance’ who are joined by a slew of established names and risings stars including Aqwea, Baby Rollen and FYI Chris.

In addition to the above, just beyond the horizon on 1st October, TOLA plays host to one of the most respected selectors of a generation; Cassy. Usually found holding down residencies at super clubs such as DC-10, Rex & Trouw or headlining international festivals, Cassy breaks away from the masses to perform an incredibly rare intimate performance in London.

From humble beginnings working in Berlin’s record shops and stepping up as one of Panorama Bar’s first residents, to her A&R work for Kwench Records singing releases from the likes of Ron Trent and DJ Sneak, its a lifetime dedicated to music that lies at the heart of Cassy’s expertise. Cassy is A woman who embodies the fundamental characteristics of the archetypal DJ; skilled, knowledgeable, passionate, committed to entertaining the dance floor and utterly smitten with music in all its forms, making this London performance in an intimate, authentic club setting not one to miss.

TOLA’s Funktion-One Audio System has been designed, specced and installed by Sound-Services for optimum sound quality and coverage throughout the venue.

The club is owned and operated by three childhood friends with deep ties to Peckham. The venue is named in honour of the Nigerian landlord, who ran the venue for the previous generation, and his legacy is continued through the focus on community, creativity, and good vibes.
