TOLA Peckham launches rooftop asian inspired food concept ‘Ling Ling’s’

TOLA Peckham is a late-night bar and music venue in the heart of South London, equipped with a roof terrace, custom tuned Funktion-One sound system and resident food concept ‘Ling Ling’s’. On the weekends the dance floor comes to life with an in-house music programme showcasing the best of London’s soundsystem culture and underground dance music all set within an intimate 200 capacity club. Taking things back to the more personal approach to entry policies of UK rave culture, TOLA offers everyone that signs up to an event, free entry before 10pm and £10 guest list thereafter.

Opening its doors on Monday July 19th, Take Note LDN will be the first to take over TOLA, they’ll be inviting Bailey Ibbs, Hutch, Yves Tomas, WAAW and a very Special Guest for a night of underground dance music on ‘Freedom Day’. The first weekend after opening sees Martha and Tempo Soundsystem host Friday July 23rd, and SWIM curated by Yves Tomas (Daughters of Frank, Ony and a Special Guest) on Saturday July 24th.

Events until the end of August include hosts Keep Hush, Foundation FM, Prestige Pak, Night Service, and welcomes DJs such as Lil C, Felix Hall, Paige, Nyra, FOLD, Shannen SP, Clive Henry, Simone Marie (Primal Scream) and many more.

While TOLA is a platform for breaking new talent, dancers will often see esteemed Artists in the booth so keep an eye on the “Special Guest” nights on the website. Previous special guests include Jon Hopkins, Jayda G, Eris Drew, Joy Orbison, Ben UFO, Henry Wu and many more.

The Funktion-One Audio System has been designed, specced and installed by Sound-Services for optimum sound quality and coverage throughout the venue.

Tom Broadbent, co-founder of TOLA says “As a music-first venue, closing our dance floor for 16 months has been heartbreaking, and while transforming into a restaurant and bar has allowed TOLA to weather the storm, getting back to our core purpose as a safe space for our community to dance and experience music together will feel incredible.”

The club is owned and operated by three childhood friends with deep ties to Peckham. The venue is named in honour of the Nigerian landlord, who ran the venue for the previous generation, and his legacy is continued through the focus on community, creativity, and good vibes.
