Traditional Charing Cross Pub Reopens with Fresh New Look Following Six Figure Refurb
The Princess of Wales, 27 Villiers Street, London, WC2N6ND officially reopened in late June following an extensive refurbishment, giving the historic pub a warm and inviting new feel. This follows its neighbouring site, The Bear and Staff, having a recent renovation earlier this year.
Guests can enjoy everything you’d expect to find on a respectable British pub menu including an array of delicious sharers, classic main dishes and succulent burgers, there’s a selection of food that’s perfectly suited to every appetite.
Along with the food menu, guests will also be greeted with an extensive drinks menu, boasting a wide selection of gin options and cask, craft beers and world lagers.
Speaking about the refurbishment, the general manager said: “The pub looks great, it has provided extra seating and vertical drinking spaces without losing its traditional and cosy atmosphere’’
Following the extensive refurbishment and significant investment made at the pub, the team is so excited to pour pints and serve high-quality, delicious food to guests.
The historic pub was named in memory of George IV’s secret first wife. When still Prince Regent, he secretly married Catholic widow Maria Fitzherbert in 1785. The marriage was declared illegal at his father’s behest, because George would have been ineligible to reign with a Catholic wife. It is located on Villiers Street, which gets its name from George Villiers, the Duke of Buckingham.
