Two cats at the RSPCA’s Friern Barnet Adoption Centre are hoping to catch the eye of their purr-fect adopters – as staff at the centre issue a special appeal to help find their forever homes.

Hibiscus and Carla are both domestic shorthair cross cats, thought to be around two years old, and both have plenty of love to give.

Hibiscus is described by the Friern Barnet team as playful and sweet-natured and enjoys getting the zoomies, as well as proudly bringing her favourite toys over to people.

She came into the RSPCA’s care in January after being found as an underweight stray, with noticeable fur loss – which she has since thankfully made a full recovery from.
Georgina Holding, Rehoming Supervisor at the centre said: “Like the flower she is named after, Hibiscus just needs a little room to bloom.

“She has come on leaps and bounds while being cared for by a fosterer, but we’d really love to see her find a home of her own where she can continue to thrive.”

Hibiscus is looking for an experienced cat owner who understands her independent nature and can give her the time and space she needs to settle in.

Another cat hoping for her happy ending is Carla, who came into the RSPCA’s care in March after being found with a painful skin condition (pictured, before and after) while also raising a litter of kittens.

Now her kittens have grown up, the RSPCA say it’s Carla’s turn to find a family of her own.
Georgina added: “Carla is such a sweet girl with so much love to give.

“She can be a little shy at first, but once she feels comfortable, she really blossoms. She loves attention and affection but also has a lovely playful side.

“After everything she has been through, we would love to see Carla find the loving home she deserves.”

Carla is looking for a calm and loving home where she can settle in at her own pace. Her skin condition is currently being managed with medication and a special veterinary diet, which her new owners will need to continue.
