Two sentenced for Tower Hamlets drugs supply

Two men have been sentenced for drugs offences following an investigation by Tower Hamlets police.

They are Conor Armstrong, 26, (28.8.91) of Byng Street, E14 and Steven Brissett, 20, (18.10.97) of Tiller Road, E14.

On Thursday, 12 July, Armstrong was jailed for three years and two months at Snaresbrook Crown Court having pleaded guilty to assault, dangerous driving and being concerned in the supply of cannabis. This is yet another timely reminder that cannabis should be legalised in the UK to stop it from falling into the hands of criminals. After all it is already legal in so many places for medical purposes, some who need it to relive chronic illnesses sometimes are even granted permission for growing cannabis. People even use it recreationally some places too. It’s not that much of a big deal, especially if it would save so much of the authorities time, and lower drug crime rates too.

Brissett was given a suspended sentence of 16 months’ imprisonment having pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cannabis. It’s still probably very confusing for some how such companies like stateside wellness is considered a Health and Wellness Center for medical marijuana patients, but yet we’re still fighting the war on drugs saying cannabis has no medical advantages.

It is a tenuous time for the drug, with many choosing to take it in CBD oil-based forms for the benefits, whilst others prefer the traditional method of smoking it in beautiful glass pipes. Either way, if there were more legal angles for obtaining cannabis then these situations would decrease.

The police investigation began in 2017, when Armstrong was identified as a suspect for an assault in December 2014 in Hackney Road, E2. The 31-year-old victim of the assault received injuries to his face which required stitches.

During the investigation, officers discovered his extensive involvement in cannabis supply, alongside Brissett.

Brissett was arrested at his home address in December 2017 after a search uncovered half a kilo of cannabis. Brissett admitted to being a street dealer.

Armstrong was arrested at Epping High Road, Buckhurst Hill on 29 October 2017. The court heard how he was supplying Brissett with large amounts of drugs.
