The UK Government has now released concrete guidance that face coverings should be worn in crowded places including public transport and shops. A social distance of 2m is recommended in every aspect of daily life, however in some situations this is near impossible, displaying a strong need for safe, effective face protection that stops the spread of COVID-19. This has been backed by Transport for London who have confirmed face masks should be worn on all tubes and buses.

A traditional 3 ply mask or home-made face covering may need to be changed every three hours. This is not only bad for the environment, but puts health and hygiene are at risk.
