Victim named following fatal stabbing in Forest Gate

Detectives investigating the fatal stabbing of a man in Forest Gate have named him as 33-year-old Ismaila Ceesay.


Officers were called to reports that a fight was taking place on Warwick Road, E15 in the early hours of Tuesday, 28 May.

Ismaila was taken to hospital where he sadly died. A post-mortem examination carried out on Thursday, 30 May found the cause of death to be a stab wound to the abdomen.

A 46-year-old man [A] arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday, 28 May has been released on bail to a date in mid-June.

A 20-year-old woman [B] arrested on suspicion of murder on Wednesday, 29 May and a 24-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of murder on Saturday, 1 June have also been bailed to a date in late June.

Detective from the Homicide and Major Crime Command continue to work to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and remain keen to hear from anyone who has information that could assist them.
