Voi riders can travel for free during the latest Tube strike today as the e-scooter and e-bike provider acts to help people get around the capital.
For the rest of this week, day passes will be free and inclusive of journeys up to 30 minutes. Voi has around 4,000 bikes and thousands more scooters deployed across 10 London boroughs. To redeem the free pass and unlock vehicles, people need to register on the Voi app.
The promotion comes as Voi saw a second record breaking day in London.
The overall number of rides on Voi e-scooters and e-bikes was 66% higher than average, while new user registrations surged 148%.
Trip distances are running 10–15% above average, with the biggest spikes in Lambeth (+30%) and Southwark (+20%).
Christina Moe Gjerde, Voi’s VP for Northern Europe, said: “Londoners can ride e-bikes and e-scooters for free during the strike, with up to 30 minutes of free travel to make getting around the city simple and accessible.
“Micromobility is critical to the future of public transport. We know there is huge demand for safe, reliable rental vehicles which work alongside trains, Tubes and buses to help people get around congestion.
“The Government needs to support active travel in the long term with permanent legislation on rental e-scooters and proper pan-London licensing for micromobility.”
