Iconic ridged crisp brand Walkers MAX has joined forces with pizza legends Pizza Hut to launch the world’s first ridged, crisp-topped pizza.

Offering more surface area than a normal ‘flat’ pizza*, the deep MAX-inspired ridges offer even deeper pools of cheesy pizza deliciousness – making it even better for sharing with friends and family, and perfect served with a fresh side salad.

Featuring a delicious cheese and tomato Margherita topping, pizza fans receiving the order will also receive two sharing bags of the new Walkers MAX Pizza Hut crisps – Pepperoni Feast and Texan BBQ – to customise their dish by selecting a flavour (or mixing both!) and sprinkling it on to create a modern masterpiece. And with all pizzas available to order for FREE, and both flavours suitable for vegetarians too, it’s a win win.

The invention follows the addition of two permanent new Pizza Hut-inspired flavours to its classic ridged crisps – Walkers Max Pepperoni Feast and Texan BBQ – which have been a huge hit with fans since they launched this summer.

Following this success, and with the snack brand’s data** revealing an emerging trend for serving crisps on pizza, the two brands opted to launch this latest collaboration to offer a new taste explosion to fans of both Walkers MAX and Pizza Hut.

According to new data from Walkers, almost half (47%) of UK adults have never tried crisps on a pizza, and 42% claim to love pizza and crisps separately but have never tried them together, yet it’s a trend that’s becoming increasingly popular with each generation.

Two thirds (67%) of Gen Z (18-24 year olds) have tried the combination, yet this reduces with each age group, with 62% of 25-34 year olds, 56% of 35-44 year olds, 50% of 45-54 year olds, 47% of 55-64 year olds, 43% of 65-74 year olds and 42% of those over 75 claiming the same.
