Warwick Business School celebrates 10 years at The Shard
Warwick Business School is marking a major milestone this summer as it celebrates 10 years since opening its London base at The Shard.
To commemorate the occasion, WBS will host a special anniversary celebration on June 26, bringing together alumni, students, faculty, and business leaders to reflect on a decade of innovation, impact, and growth at the heart of London’s financial district.
Since opening its doors in 2015, WBS London has become a hub for Executive Education, MBA programmes, and thought leadership, offering panoramic views of the capital and a dynamic learning environment that reflects the School’s global ambitions.
Andy Lockett, Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship and Dean of WBS, said: “The Shard has become a symbol of our commitment to delivering cutting-edge research and teaching in a setting that inspires. More executive suite than classroom, our hub, in one the world’s iconic buildings, is a catalyst for connection, innovation, and transformation.
“We are for the Change Makers and the past decade has seen us do just that at The Shard, providing the skills and knowledge for participants to not only improve their organisations but bring about true benefits to their sector from healthcare and finance, to tech and the creative industries, and beyond.
“The Shard is an iconic and inspirational location high above the heart of the City and enables us to connect a like-minded community of innovative Change Makers.”
Over the past decade, WBS London has welcomed thousands of students from across the globe, expanded its portfolio of programmes, and forged partnerships with leading organisations like the Bank of England and the National Health Service (NHS).
Students have travelled from as far afield as China, Hong Kong and New Zealand to learn and advance their careers and organisations.
Alongside the School’s highly ranked programmes WBS London offers top quality workspaces, accelerator programmes for start-ups, inspirational speakers, thought leadership events, cutting-edge research showcases, personal development activities, and networking opportunities.
The School’s Executive MBA is delivered at The Shard, while the Global Online MBA holds its residential week at the London base – both consistently ranked among the best in the world.
The Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), a PhD-level programme for senior executives, is also run from The Shard, while WBS was recently ranked among the UK’s top three providers of Executive Education for open courses and 19th globally, with all these programmes taught at the prestigious building.
The anniversary celebration will bring together alumni, academics, guests from industry and students to reflect on the School’s impact over the past decade and look forward to continuing to shape the future of business education and industry collaboration.
“We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved at The Shard,” said Professor Lockett. “But we’re even more excited about what’s to come. As we look to the future, we remain focused on equipping the next generation of leaders with the skills, mindset, and values to shape a better world.”
