Born and bread in London and baking for Britain for more than 50 years, Wenzel’s is getting into the spirit of spooky season with a brand-new autumn menu landing on 1st October.
From warm, freshly baked buns to spooky cookies, Halloween donuts and gingerbread mummies, the family-run bakery is filling its shelves with the kind of treats that make darker mornings, colder commutes and October afternoons that little bit sweeter.
Since Peter Wenzel opened the first Wenzel’s bakery in North West London in 1975, the family business has grown from one neighbourhood bakery into a familiar sight on high streets across England, with more than 100 stores today.
But while the bakery has grown, the recipe has stayed much the same: good baking, fair prices and food people actually want to eat. Wenzel’s still bakes and decorates its cakes daily at its central bakery, before bread, pastries and treats make their way out to local shops, where baguettes are filled and bread is freshly sliced.
This October, that same approach is getting an autumn makeover.
SWEETEN UP AUTUMN
Cinnamon Swirl Latte (RRP: £3.25)
Cosy season in a cup. The new Cinnamon Swirl Latte brings warming, sweet cinnamon flavour to Wenzel’s coffee menu just as the temperatures start to drop. At just £3.25, it’s one of the most affordable seasonal coffee fixes on the high street, and customers can swap to Plenish Oat Milk at no extra cost, keeping the autumn pick-me-up accessible to everyone.

A proper autumn pick-me-up. Sweet, swirled and made for pairing with a hot coffee when only a bakery treat will do.

Wenzel’s is also taking the hassle out of Halloween hosting with three new seasonal traybakes, available to order through Wenzel’s Catering online for Click & Collect from local stores.

The autumn launch continues a big year for the family bakery. More than five decades after its first loaf came out of the oven, Wenzel’s remains proudly family-run, with its focus firmly on making freshly baked favourites and new treats accessible to the communities it serves.
From the morning coffee run to the after-school treat, lunchtime sausage roll or box of cakes brought into the office, Wenzel’s has spent 50 years being part of the everyday, and this autumn, it’s making the everyday a little sweeter.
