West London NHS Trust shortlisted for 2019 HSJ Awards
West London NHS Trust is delighted to announce that it has been shortlisted for Workforce Initiative of the Year at this year’s HSJ Awards, recognising their outstanding contribution to healthcare.
The judging panel, made up of a diverse range of highly influential and respected figures within the healthcare community, have shortlisted West London NHS Trust despite the tough competition from hundreds of excellent applicants.
‘Improving the wellbeing of the workforce in an IAPT service’ has been selected based on their ambition, visionary spirit and the demonstrable positive impact that their project has had on patient and staff experiences within the health and/or social care sector.
The overall ambition of this project was to design a team-wide intervention that would improve staff morale, productivity and engagement. A wellbeing team was created, consisting of frontline clinicians. The team implemented a range of initiatives, including a weekly reflective practice group, staff yoga and mini mindfulness sessions. The wellbeing team offers constructive feedback to the senior management team regarding service development and valued leadership qualities, which has shaped how staff appraisals are conducted, with staff having one personal wellbeing objective each year.
Ruth Dennis, Joint Clinical Lead at West London NHS Trust comments, “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for Workforce Initiative of the Year, recognising the collaborative efforts and dedication of our staff members over the last 12 months to successfully implement ‘Improving the wellbeing of the workforce in an IAPT service’. We are committed to delivering improved outcomes for our patients, and to be chosen among the other incredible nominees is a wonderful achievement. This nomination has been a tremendous boost to staff at West London NHS Trust and I am sure it will bolster our continued efforts to improve our services.
