West-London Resident Launches New Sustainable Children’s Clothing Brand ‘Coco & Kiki’ to Make Giving Back Easier

Shopping for sustainable and ethically hand-made children’s clothes? Created during lockdown by London-based friends Corrine Amos and Kishana Quallo, CoCo & KiKi is a new sustainable children’s clothing brand that officially launched this month with the aim of making giving back easier.

CoCo & KiKi is a clothing label with sustainability at the heart of everything they do. Emblazoned with a signature fox pocket on the front (also known as the ‘lolly pop pocket’), profits made through sales not only provide fair payment for all involved in their production but are also reinvested in charity projects around the world including helping local people affected by Covid in India and the Philippines.

The dungarees are handmade in a boutique lakeside studio in Bangalore, India, run by local women who have all become experts in their own field. Produced with zero waste, ensuring any fabric cut-offs are reused and upcycled into accessories such as scrunchies and fox hairbands, the dungarees are available for ages 2 – 12 and cost £45 each. To view the range, visit www.cocoandkiki.co.uk.

Designed to encourage children’s playful outdoor spirit and to ‘care more, worry less and stay curious’, the dungarees are made from high-quality corduroy to be comfortable and lined with 100% cotton ensuring they can be washed repeatedly. Available in three distinct and vibrant colours, rustic red, classic orange and foxy brown, the dungarees are also designed to be long-lasting with adjustable coconut buttons to be passed to younger siblings and roll-up, roll-down trouser legs to suit different lengths.

To help children learn more about the benefits of creative play and sustainability, Coco & Kiki has also partnered with Art Play, a new art studio recently opened in East London, to run an upcycling workshop on Friday 18th February 2022. Fabric World offers children the opportunity to repurpose abandoned fabrics and shredded plastic into sea creatures, woodland animals, hair braids and decor for an immersive forest and river scene. Children can also paint cut-outs of recycled paper in the shape of dungarees, and parents can order their children’s designs on custom-made dungarees at a discounted price. Taking place at 56 Middlesex Street, London, the workshop is available for children aged 3 – 11 and costs £12 per child. To book or for further details, visit www.artplaylondon.com/fabric-world.

Corrine Amos, Co-Founder of CoCo & KiKi said, “Triggered by the frequent disparity between the funds charities collect, and the frightfully low percentage the projects they support ultimately receive, we decided there had to be a fairer way. We founded Coco & Kiki to be as transparent as possible from source to patron. Ethical, sustainable, and efficient, we’ve harnessed our skills and with the support of our friends, we keep our costs to a minimum which allows the money generated through sales of our signature fox dungarees to provide fair payment for all involved in their production.”
