Westfield London and Westfield Stratford City will turn off the music in the centres in support of Purple Tuesday. This move, scheduled for tomorrow (Tuesday), is aimed at enhancing accessibility for individuals with hidden disabilities, including autism.

Purple Tuesday, celebrated annually on 7th November, is dedicated to recognising the importance of disabled customers and assisting retailers in better addressing their needs. This marks the initial step in a new, long-term partnership between these two organisations.

This year, Westfield London and Westfield Stratford City are demonstrating their commitment to improving the experience for their valued disabled customers by offering Purple Tuesday-themed giveaways and illuminating their centres in purple, symbolising their dedication to this cause.

Katie Wyle, Head of Shopping Centre Management at Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, says:

“Our commitment to serving customers with diverse needs is of utmost importance to Westfield and we are dedicated to offering tailored support to address their unique requirements – from sensory backpacks and chaperones for the visually impaired, we’ve got a broad range of services and features across our destinations. Both London centres provide a wide range of services to assist disabled visitors, and during the upcoming bustling Christmas season, Westfield is introducing a daily quiet hour at The Ice Rink in Westfield London. Additionally, sensory packs, thoughtfully designed to cater to individuals living with various disabilities, will be accessible at both centres to enhance the shopping experience and make it more enjoyable for those who can benefit from them.
