What To Do This Weekend: BBQ On The Southbank This Weekend

With the prospect of a 14-day quarantine putting an end to European holidays, and many Londoners having spent five months stuck indoors without any outdoor space, Hellmann’s has created an experience that will give Londoners the opportunity to grill, roast, sear and season to their hearts content.

Taking place on Saturday 29th August at the iconic Southbank, the free pop-up will enable city dwellers to channel their inner BBQ king (or queen) by hosting separate groups of up to six people throughout the day for a banging BBQ feast.

Each group will have their every whim catered to, with a spread that features a sizzling selection of meaty, veggie and vegan dishes. From salads to sides, and hearty mains – there’s a dish for every appetite. Crispy corn with Cajun spiced mayo, a juicy cheeseburger in a brioche bun and a Mediterranean-inspired halloumi burger are just a snapshot of the summer inspired menu.

With recent research also revealing that one quarter (25.4%) * of Londoners have never had a BBQ – and bank holiday events across the capital cancelled – there’s never been a better time to get London grilling.

As of today, Londoners are able to be able to apply for a slot by visiting the Hellmann’s Instagram page and tagging five friends or family members** they’d like to visit with. Entrants will be selected at random by Hellmann’s and notified of their group timings by Friday 28th August.
