Summer 2026 is shaping up to be one of the busiest sporting calendars London has seen in years. The FIFA Men’s World Cup (11 June – 19 July) overlaps with Wimbledon (29 June – 12 July), the British Grand Prix at Silverstone (2 – 5 July) and the final weeks of the Premier League and Champions League.
For those looking beyond the standard sports-day pub outing, two Hyatt hotels in the City of London are quietly establishing themselves as unique alternatives. Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars and Andaz London Liverpool Street offer dedicated venues for live sports screenings, with their own special twists.
Leaf & Cane – live sports, karaoke and cocktail bar
Within Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars, Leaf & Cane is a vibrant late-night karaoke, sports and cocktail bar.
With licence to screen all major sports matches on high-definition screens, Leaf & Cane is the perfect place to watch a game in a group setting while you enjoy substantial sharing plates, a wide selection of beers, and signature cocktails like the Oaxaca Old Fashioned and Mezcal Negroni.
Adjoining it, a sunken open-air terrace sits at basement level, housing nine original stone cells from the site’s later life as a women’s prison, preserved with their iron bars and converted into intimate semi-private alcoves.
Directly opposite Blackfriars station, it also offers an easy exit after full time – unless, of course, you want to stick around for karaoke powered by Lucky Voice.
Open Tuesday to Saturday 5pm – 1am.
Lady Abercorn’s Pub & Kitchen – traditional-style pub and kitchen
This Grade II listed space located in the City of London was formerly known as The George and retains its Victorian-era coffered ceiling, dark oak panelling, and cast-iron windows, with an original 1620 painting of Bishopsgate, where the pub stands, still hanging behind the bar.
The pub, housed in Andaz London Liverpool Street, takes its current name from the persona of Lady Abercorn, a well-travelled East End landlady whose influence runs through the globally sourced curios and dining room portraits and, ultimately, the menu.
Lady Abercorn’s serves a line-up of craft beers from local breweries alongside revisited pub classics. It shows live sport across its screens and offers sharing platters and group table bookings ideal for gameday. Its position next to Liverpool Street station also makes it one of the most transport-friendly options in the City and perfect for after-work socials.
Open Monday to Saturday 12pm – 11pm and Sunday 12pm – 9pm.
