William Hill reveals favourites for Razzies Worst Actor and Actress
UK bookmakers William Hill have revealed their favourites to snag Worst Actor and Worst Actress awards at this year’s Razzies awards.
The Razzies, a parody award show which honours the worst of the past year’s cinema, is due to take place on 26 March – by no coincidence, the night before the Oscars.
As the not-so prestigious awards approach, William Hill gives a rundown on their favourites to win Worst Actor and Worst Actress.
Basketball superstar LeBron James is current favourite for Worst Actor, priced at 4-5, for his acting debut in Space Jam: A New Legacy. The sequel to the much-loved 90s hit has fallen on deaf ears, as has James’ performance.
In second behind LeBron James is Ben Platt, odds 7-4, for his reprised role in Dear Evan Hansen, a divisive adaptation of the Broadway musical.
The final three tipped for Worst Actor are Mark Wahlberg (5-1) for Infinite, a sci-fi feature named ‘a soulless grind’ by The Hollywood Reporter, Scott Eastwood (10-1) for Dangerous, and finally Roe Hartrampf (12-1) for Diana, The Musical.
For Worst Actress, Jeanna de Waal reps Diana, The Musical for the second time in the Razzies, and is William Hill’s favourite for Worst Actress at 4-6. Rotten Tomatoes critics claimed she ‘done Diana dirty’, giving the film a mere 12%.
Behind de Waal is Taryn Manning, best known for Orange is the New Black, priced at 13-5 for her role in Karen, which left some viewers scratching their heads.
Making the final three for their performances are Amy Adams (11-2) for The Woman in the Window, named a “cheap thrill”, Ruby Rose (9-1) for Vanquish, and finally Megan Fox (12-1) for Midnight in the Switchgrass.
