Wimbledon has the biggest resale ticket prices this year, beating Harry Styles and Taylor Swift

2023 is shaping up to be a huge year for sports and entertainment events. But with ticket scalping an increasing issue for supporters and fans across the world, attending these events in person isn’t as straightforward. To uncover the extent of this problem, research commissioned by ExpressVPN has looked at some of the biggest events in music, comedy, and sports happening this year.

The research1 compared the original face value ticket price to the lowest resale price, to find out which events have the highest ticket resale price increases.

Taking the top spot with the highest price increase overall is the Wimbledon Men’s Singles Final in London. The face value for tickets were priced at £255.00, with the lowest resale price starting at an incredible £5,870.00, an increase of 2202%.

British rockers Coldplay have the second largest ticket price jump. For the band’s Music of the Spheres tour date in Manchester, ticket prices started at £27.50, with the lowest resale price costing £276.00, which is a 904% jump.

In third place is Eurovision. After the finals were announced in Liverpool this year, tickets started at £380.00 and saw a huge 813% increase, taking them up to £3,469.00 at their lowest resale price.
