‘Frozen Lighthouse’ – by Manfred Voss
Manfred Voss, winner of the CEWE Photo Award 2021 said: “It feels absolutely great, almost unbelievable, to have won the world’s biggest photo competition in the end. The theme “Our world is beautiful” could also be called the theme of my photography. I consciously try to capture the beauty of our world in pictures. It was impressive to see what a beautiful ice sculpture nature has formed from this man-made lighthouse.
Clare Moreton, photo expert at CEWE UK, said: “We’ve loved seeing so many creative and unique images shared from this year’s CEWE Photo Award. It was definitely a difficult choice for the judges to select the winner, as the entries this year were spectacular. However, this image captured by Manfred stood out for its beauty and true connection to the theme of the competition.
“We’ve really enjoyed seeing people’s entries to the competition and it’s been eye opening to see new perspectives and visuals across the globe. We look forward to sharing more entries across all categories over the coming months.”
The competition aimed to showcase the best photography from across the globe by keen amateur photographers and established professionals, that all celebrated the competition’s ‘Our world is beautiful’ theme. In total, there were 10 categories for budding photographers to enter – from aerial shots and animals to landscapes, travel & culture.
