An award winning women’s health and menopause expert who’s helped hundreds of women globally to navigate menopause with wellness in mind, has been announced as a finalist for the prestigious Business Book Awards with her bestselling book ‘Have a Magnificent Menopause: A straightforward Guide to Looking Good and Feeling Great’.
The Business Book Awards, in association with Pathway Group, holds the annual ceremony to honour authors who have imparted their industry knowledge and experience in book format.
Alison Bladh, 56, offers women over 40 a no nonsense guide to thriving through perimenopause, menopause and beyond with or without Hormone Replacement Therapy. This straight-talking manual has been praised as “a breath of fresh air in the menopause space” and described as “like having a wise best friend, nutritionist and beauty therapist rolled into one.”
Sharing practical guides, check lists and real women’s stories alongside clinical research and scientific studies, Alison’s mission is simple – to help women over 40 take back control of their bodies, rediscover their energy, and feel confident and empowered in their skin again, after researching menopause became a passion of hers, having witnessed her mother suffer in silence at a time when the topic was taboo.
With over 35 years’ experience and a passion shaped by both professional expertise and personal experience, having been unable to take HRT herself, Alison combines nutritional therapy, beauty industry expertise, and lifestyle strategies that she has seen work, so that women can feel more energised, confident and in control of their health.
Her passion for women’s health began with her own struggles with acne as a teenager, which led her to train as an aesthetician, and she soon discovered the powerful link between nutrition, hormones and skin health. Growing up on a chicken farm in Surrey with a chef mother who grew all their own fruit and vegetables, food and wellbeing were always deeply connected. Alison’s love for cooking began during her time at boarding school where she found comfort and creativity through food. Having lived across the globe, her international experiences have also shaped an inclusive approach to wellness, determined to support women globally.
The book tackles common challenges, everything from fatigue, brain fog and weight gain to confidence, skincare and mindset, helping women feel vibrant and in control at every stage of life. The tone is supportive and straight talking, cutting through confusing advice and addresses “menowashing” to deliver clear, evidence based solutions that work.
Alison said: “I am delighted to have been listed as a finalist in the Business Book Awards. “Have a Magnificent Menopause: A Straightforward Guide to Looking Good and Feeling Great” will resonate with any woman who has ever stood in front of the mirror wondering where she went and is now ready to find her again”.
With the awards presentation scheduled for September 16th, her recognition is a testament to her contributions towards wellness and menopause.
Alison has also recently launched a new concept into the beauty industry – the Meno Massage Method™ – enabling beauty therapists to deliver support for their midlife clients through becoming a certified Meno Massage Method™ practitioner.
