Would You Believe It? Richmond’s Missing Lotto Millionaire Has Been Found

A missing Lotto millionaire has come forward in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames to claim their incredible £1M prize.
Following an extensive search by The National Lottery to find the missing winner and with the public urged to believe it could be them, the lucky winner has come forward nearly two months after their lucky numbers were drawn to claim their winnings.
The lucky pink ticket was purchased in Richmond for the Lotto draw on Wednesday 19 August and matched five main numbers and the Bonus Ball in Round 2 to scoop the seven-figure prize. The winning numbers were 4, 8, 10, 17, 23, 28 and the Bonus Ball was 16.
Toby Moxham, Head of Winners’ Services at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, said: “What a result. Someone has come forward following our appeal to claim their one-million-pound prize. If Ted Lasso has taught us anything, it’s the power of believing, and we believed we would unite our missing winner with their life-changing prize.
“Just imagine, for nearly two months someone has been walking around without realising they have been sat on a winning ticket that would change their life forever.”
The claim follows a fantastic few weeks for Lotto winners, with the game now making more millionaires than ever before. Since the launch of new Lotto in June
76 millionaires have been created, with the total for 2026 at a whopping 140 millionaires.
As with all major prizes, the claim will now go through the process of validation, which includes checks to ensure the Games Rules and Terms and Conditions are adhered to, and the integrity of The National Lottery is protected. Subject to validation, the prize will then be paid at an appointment with an Allwyn Winners’ Adviser.
Once validated and paid, the ticket-holder will decide whether or not they wish to go public and share their news. There will be no information released about whether the winner is an individual or syndicate, or where the tickets were purchased, unless the winner chooses to go public.
Playing any National Lottery game is more than just a chance to win; it’s a way to contribute to something much bigger. Each week, players help generate around £33M for National Lottery-funded projects. With more than £53BN raised for Good Causes since launch, this funds hundreds of projects in every postcode area across the UK.
