Yoo Capital announces The National Film and Television School (NFTS) as education partner for Camden Film Quarter

Yoo Capital, the real estate investment firm known for transformational mixed-use developments, is pleased to announce the UK’s leading creative institute, The National Film and Television School (NFTS) as its education partner for the Camden Film Quarter development, announced in 2023.

As part of Yoo Capital’s world-class vision to create an entirely new creative neighbourhood, NFTS will look to have a dedicated, standalone environment in Camden Film Quarter, to inspire a future generation of talent within an ecosystem that’s entirely dedicated to film, television and games. The new development in Camden will complement existing NFTS locations across the UK in Beaconsfield, Leeds, Scotland and Wales, enhancing the School’s reach and influence. The aligned ambitions for Yoo Capital and NFTS in this partnership is to foster interaction between every planned element of the site to supercharge not only the creative industry but how future destinations can be shaped to allow culture, community and commercial viability to coexist.

With over 50 years’ of experience providing the highest standard of education, NFTS will be advising on, designing and delivering unique programmes for the space, bringing their expertise to the local creative community with their first ever purpose built central London site. Our commitment to delivering this important school as part of Camden Film Quarter is a direct reflection of our commitment to balancing fiscal and social responsibility and to supporting the UK’s commitment to the creative, film and television industries.

Alongside NFTS’s education campus, the plans for Camden Film Quarter will encompass spaces that create an innovative and sustainable mixed-use neighbourhood with industrial, commercial and creative activity provided alongside high-quality new homes, 50% of which will be affordable, and infrastructure to support the local community.

Lloyd Lee, Managing Partner, Yoo Capital, said:

“We are honoured to be announcing the National Film and Television School as our first occupier in the Camden Film Quarter. For over 50 years, the entire world has enjoyed the creative work of thousands of hardworking, talented graduates of the National Film & Television School.

These graduates and the NFTS have helped cement the UK’s reputation as a true global leader for the creative industries, particularly in film and television. Working together with the leadership of the NFTS, we envision this new campus in the heart of Central London will bring forth many new generations of talent and continue to advance the UK’s international reputation of excellence through the next century.”

Jon Wardle, Director of the National Film and Television School said:

“As Yoo Capital’s education partner for Camden Film Quarter, the National Film and Television School (NFTS) is thrilled to announce our plans for a dedicated creative space in Central London. This partnership underlines our commitment to developing a vibrant community of emerging future talent by offering world leading training that is accessible to all while further advancing the UK’s position as a global creative powerhouse.”
