The British Film Designers Guild (BFDG) has today announced the finalists in 13 of the 16 categories for its upcoming Production Design Awards. The final round of voting will open to BFDG members on 12th January, and the winners will be revealed at a prestigious ceremony scheduled for 28th February at London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel.
The shortlist of productions celebrates the extraordinary talent of Art Department creatives across Film, TV, Commercial and Music Video alongside individual honours recognising Spotlighting New Talent, Outstanding Contribution to the Art Department, and Lifetime Achievement. Together, the nominations reflect the extraordinary breadth, ambition and craft of today’s production designers and art department teams.
Among the standout contenders in the film and television categories are Alien: Earth, Andor, Anemone, Hamnet, Bugonia, and Wicked: For Good, with equally strong representation in the Music Video and Short Film categories. Now in its second year, Best Production Design – Music Video continues to gain momentum, while the thriving Short Film category remains a vital platform for emerging production designers to showcase bold new work.
Jonathan Paul Green, Chairperson of the BFDG, commented:
“We are absolutely thrilled by the sheer scale and quality of work submitted for our 15th awards. The standard continues to rise year on year, making the judging process ever more competitive. Our members are consistently delivering world-class work across British art departments, and I very much look forward to celebrating their achievements together on 28th February.”
The BFDG Production Design Awards have become a firmly established highlight of the Film and Television awards calendar, drawing together leading creatives from across the industry, alongside BFDG members and supporters. The Guild extends its sincere thanks to its awards sponsors, whose generous support makes this celebration of craft and collaboration possible.
