3,2,1…. CHICKEN SHOP ‘BLASTS OFF’ IT’S NEW, FIERIEST CHICKEN BURGER YET INTO SPACE

Award-winning fried chicken restaurant, Chicken Shop, has celebrated the launch of their new, fieriest ever range – Volcano – by blasting not just the tastebuds of chicken
lovers, but also one of the ‘out of this world’ burgers from the new menu directly into space.

To mark the momentous occasion, Chicken Shop also linked up with renowned TikTok prankster, Callum Ryan aka thatonecal, to play the ultimate fast-food prank on his unsuspecting
mum, who received the spicy burger upon its return to Earth via an Uber Eats delivery.

The Volcano Chicken Burger was sent to space in partnership with Sent into Space, taking a one-and-a-half-hour journey to 110,000 feet or 33.5 kilometres above the Earth’s
surface. The burger made the galactic trip via a bespoke stratospheric balloon filled with hydrogen gas. After the burger returned to Earth, descending at speeds of up to 200mph, it was “collected” by Callum, disguised as an Uber Eats driver who delivered
it to his stunned mum.

Callum has shared the story of the Volcano burger’s journey with his 1.1 million followers on TikTok, from collecting the Volcano burger at a Chicken Shop branch, to helping
launch it into space and then delivering it on his Uber Eats motorcycle to his mum like nothing had happened. Only after trying the burger does he reveal to his mum about its extraordinary journey.

John Nelson, CEO of Chicken Shop commented: “We think our fried chicken is truly out of
this world and how better to prove it than to truly launch it into space and then celebrate with an equally out of this world prank in partnership with Cal who we are all big fans of at Chicken Shop. Our new Volcano range of burgers, sandwiches and wraps are
made with a fruity habanero super-hot sauce, if you’re someone who seriously craves the heat then this is the chicken for you. Thanks to everyone who got involved, including Uber Eats, Sent into Space, Cal and of course, his mum!”

Matthew Price, Regional General Manager of Uber Eats in UKI and Northern Europe said
“Uber Eats customers are not only fried chicken connoisseurs but their appreciation for all things spicy is something to be celebrated. Chicken Shop is an amazing partner for us and we’re thrilled to offer the new Volcano range delivered to customers’ doors.”

The new Volcano range is available at all Chicken Shop sites from today, Tuesday 23rd April, including the “as seen in space” Volcano Burger which is made up of Chicken Shop’s
classic chicken fillet, lettuce, volcano hot sauce, cheese and Habanero ranch slaw, available from £9.25. Those who crave even more heat can also tuck into the Volcano range in a wrap, chicken wings or tenders at one of Chicken Shop’s six sites located across
London. Visit www.chickenshop.co.uk
