LONDON COCKTAIL WEEK: New Signature Cocktail at Luxury Mayfair Hotel
The five-star St. James’s Hotel and Club in Mayfair is launching an exciting new cocktail in time for London Cocktail Week (1st-7th October 2018) – inspired by the 19th century date when the private members club first opened its doors. The English aristocrat Earl Granville and Sardinian Minister, Marchese d’Azeglio, both avid travellers, founded St. James’s Club as a London base for the diplomatic services.
Take your senses on a journey around the world and sip on a rich history with the hotel’s newest signature cocktail, 1857
Artfully created by mixologist Gianni Albanese, 1857 is a sophisticated mixture of ingredients from the main continents, including classic City of London gin (Europe), Guanabana liqueur (America), pineapple-lime juices (Africa), yuzu bitters (Asia), spruced with fresh ginger lime (Australia).
Served on a photo frame containing a vintage world map, each guest who orders the 1857 will be given a vintage train ticket detailing the cocktail’s special ingredients to be fully transported through time for the 19th-meets-21st century experience.
The 1857 cocktail will be available at William’s Bar and Bistro inside the hotel from September onwards, alongside the hotel’s other signature cocktails – Whisky Negroni, Gardens’ Essences, Le Mexicain, New Fashioned, and Moonshine.
1857 is a permanent new addition to the cocktail menu and costs £16.50
