The IKEA Summer Funhouse returns to Livat Hammersmith, providing free, family fun for the school holidays
IKEA’s Summer Funhouse is back at Livat Hammersmith for a second year, hosting a range of fun, free workshops for children across London throughout the summer holidays.
Building on the success of last year’s event, Livat Hammersmith will be hosting a range of arts and crafts activities, games and competitions for a second year running. Activities will be held every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 26th July to 2nd September, between 11am – 5pm. Held within the Livat Hammersmith Atrium, activities on offer throughout the summer include:
Hot air balloon making, every Wednesday, between 26th July & 2nd September 2023, 11am – 5pm
– Using a popular IKEA pendant lampshade, children will be tasked with making a mini hot air balloon to take home with them, the very same day. Children can paint their mini hot air balloons whichever colour they wish and create a ‘basket’ which sits at the bottom of the balloon. Here, they can even store hidden treasure or treats, out of reach of everyone else!
Fabolous Frame decorating, every Friday, between 26th July & 2nd September 2023, 11am – 5pm
– Children will be tasked with drawing a picture to show what they love about summer and then decorate a frame with leaves/ribbons/ fabrics/shells/dried flowers where they can show off their masterpiece.
Wonderful wall hanging constructing, every Saturday, between 26th July & 2nd September 2023, 11am – 5pm
– Children will be given a hanger and strips of colourful fabrics to create a home decoration to bring a taste of summer into their bedrooms.
At a time when more families than ever are feeling the pinch of the cost of living, the IKEA Summer Funhouse will help parents keep boredom at bay at no additional cost. The free summer workshops will ensure children from Hammersmith and across London, can keep their young minds flowing with fun, playful activities.
