Smoke and Fire Festivals unveil the talent and entertainment this Summer

Award winning Smoke and Fire Festivals – the UK’s largest BBQ and outdoor cooking festivals celebrating the art of cooking with fire – is pleased to announce their family-friendly summer line ups for Ascot Racecourse on 20-21st July, and at Maldon Essex on 17-18th August 2024.

Both Festivals bring together top talent from across the culinary world and showcase the skills of chefs, butchers, and artisans to a wide audience of food enthusiasts. There’s the Real Ale and Cider Festival, VIP lounges with champagne and cocktails, alongside DJs and music to help the party vibe. Award winning street food vendors, pop-up restaurants join the ‘BBQ Alley’ which showcases the latest BBQs, equipment and accessories, giving all those attending a unique shopping experience.

What’s more all the family are entertained with fairground rides, bouncy castles, free circus workshops, and a thrilling bucking rodeo bull contest for those willing!

While both festivals feature a “Feast and Fire Stage” where award winning fire chefs will create their favourite dishes live, each one plays host this year to some unique competition and talent.

Smoke & Fire at Royal Ascot: 20th -21st July 2024
Ascot Racecourse plays host to the first-ever World Butchers Wars Challenge – gathering over 15 countries, and 30 of the world’s finest butchers competing for the first Butcher Wars World Champion™title. It celebrates the art and science of butchery with judges choosing the winners based on several criteria – appearance, butchery skills, creativity and the overall appeal of the final display among other elements.

The team are also delighted that Matt Tebbutt, popular Chef and TV presenter including BBC1 food and chat show, ‘Saturday Kitchen’ will be on stage on Sunday 2st July 2024 with BBQ Monolith.

Smoke & Fire at Maldon: 17-18th August 2024
Festival goers can watch the Great British Open Freestyle BBQ Championships® with teams competing in various rounds including a SCA Steak Cook off. The team with the highest overall score will be crowned this year’s champion, with a cash prize and £thousands worth of BBQ equipment and accessories.

For those wanting to test their own eating skills – they’re looking for participants in the extreme chilli and hot wing eating challenges!
Headlining the stage on the evening of Saturday 17th August is the popular English pop rock band The Hoosiers.
Camping is also available on-site for the weekend.
