Local charm and top-notch cuisine meet at Fulham Reach’s latest cafe – Charlotte’s Cloud

Four years ago, united by their love of great coffee, high-quality ingredients and warm hospitality, Robert Dokler and Fabio la Porta decided to open their own café in Chelsea. Fast forward to today and the pair have opened their second establishment – Charlotte’s Cloud in Fulham Reach, an award-winning riverside development by St George, proud member of the Berkeley Group, in Hammersmith.

Commenting, Fabio said: “Robert is passionate about great hospitality and I’m an Italian who is, naturally, obsessed with coffee. That’s how Charlotte’s Cloud was born.”

The restaurant joins a growing community of exciting businesses at Fulham Reach, including restaurants Brasserie Blanc and The Blue Boat, State of Mind Fitness gym, the ultimate indoor golf experience at the Caddi Club, and Fulham Reach Boat Club.

Talking about the destination, Fabio commented “I’ve lived in Fulham Reach for almost 10 years and knew it would be a great location for the cafe. We put an offer on the space the same day that we viewed it.”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better first few months at Fulham Reach. Most of our customers are returning guests, so it’s exciting to see that we’re making an impact and great first impression on the community,” added Robert.

The all-day-dining restaurant and café is well-known for its excellent coffee and tastefully curated food menu which prioritises seasonal ingredients, as well as its bottomless brunch on the weekends.

Just in time for summer, the restaurant also plans to open four evenings a week for aperitivo-style light bites, dinner and drinks accompanied by un-plugged sessions with local musicians.

Leveraging his extensive experience in some of the world’s best hotels and restaurants, including The Lanesborough, DUKES Hotel and The Fat Duck, Robert has crafted a menu with ample crowd-pleasing dishes.

Commenting, he said “Our philosophy at Charlotte’s Cloud is to serve the freshest, most local ingredients in a way that really heightens their natural flavour. When you’re working with the best produce on the market, you have to let each individual element of the dish speak for itself.”

In pursuit of perfection, the pair also toured 20 coffee roasters over just a few days to find the very best beans.

“My heart was racing by the end but it was so worth it. We have some of the best coffee in London,” laughs Fabio.

Eventually, they settled on Old Spike Coffee – a social enterprise based in Southwark which reinvests 65% of its profits to train, employ and support people who are homeless. The ethos resonates with the Charlotte’s Cloud team.

“We love local produce because it tastes great and is more sustainable, but also because it’s important to support your neighbours,” Robert comments.

In addition to Old Spike Coffee, Charlotte’s Cloud sources its meat from HG Walters, a family run butchers in Baron’s Court, and exclusively uses Clarence Court eggs, a company which prioritises hen health and welfare.

“As founders, we genuinely care about integrating with the community and supporting our local neighbourhood, and we hope that’s reflected in the offering that we’ve created,” added Fabio.

Ideally situated, Charlotte’s Cloud at Fulham Reach is a 15-minute walk from Hammersmith station, which has quick travel routes into the City and West End via the Hammersmith & City, District and Piccadilly tube lines.

At Fulham Reach, which recently launched its final collection of homes within Palmer House, residents have exclusive access to hotel-inspired amenities including a 15-metre swimming pool and spa suite with a jacuzzi, steam room and sauna, as well as a gym. There are also private treatment rooms, a residents’ lounge, a 12-seat cinema room, snooker room, and golf simulator suite, which is complimentary for an afternoon of entertainment or even those hosting a party.

The final remaining homes at Palmer House are now available, with prices starting from £810,000.
