Last night, The Earth Issue Magazine, Project 0 and The London EDITION hosted a celebration of Earth Day to kick off a week-long festival of events at the hotel.

Guests including Mary Charteris, Jasmine Hemsley, Tyrone Wood and Gizzi Erksine attended the private view unveiling a site-specific installation by celebrated Indian artist Svabhu Kohli.  This was followed by a panel discussion on art and environmental activism with Tanya Houghton, and Mary Charteris and Paul Cox in conversation about why sharks deserve our love not fear.

In celebration of Earth Day 2019, The London EDITION has partnered with The Earth Issue Magazine on a week of programming and activations. Leading up to Earth Day on 22^nd April, the week-long festival of events continues with a series of panel discussions, workshops and wellness events all focused around the theme of environment and sustainability.

Kohli’s installation around the glass cube entrance to the hotel’s Lobby Bar will remain in place for one week, leading up to Earth Day on the 22^ndApril. Kohli’s stylized illustrations of flora and fauna offer a dreamy glimpse into the artist’s love of nature and imaginative approach to art. Wrapped around the glass cube entrance, the artwork uses a sustainable alternative to vinyl made from polypropylene film, which is PVC free and can be fully recycled.

Guests enjoyed drinks by Punch Room including the hotel’s special Earth Week Cocktail, Idun’s Elyxir. Available from 15^th – 22^nd April and £2 from each one sold will be donated to Project 0, the hotel’s ocean conservation partner.
