Adding to its impressive haul of awards and accolades, Maidencombe’s family-owned and run, country-house hotel, Orestone Manor, for the fourth consecutive year, has scooped the enviable gold restaurant win in the highly competitive, 2019 Taste of the West Food and Drink Awards.
This family-run, hidden gem of a hotel, led by husband and wife executive chefs, Neil and Catherine D’Allen, son Craig and his wife Laura, first entered the Taste of the West Awards in 2016, the highly skilled Devon family are thrilled with the judges’ decision; for the fourth year-running, recognising Orestone Manor’s passion for food and fine dining, creating delicious, award-winning dishes from locally-sourced, delicious Devon produce.
The Taste of the West judges were effusive in their praise of the Orestone Manor kitchen and restaurant-led by talented head chef, Daryl Sharpe, saying of the award winning venue, ‘Truly inspiring to see a local family owned business producing such a brilliant dining experience’, while the food served was described as perfect in every way, ‘Everything spoke of the best possible ingredients, cooked to perfection and presented perfectly.’
