This October, the iconic Actors Church in Covent Garden will play host to a fabulous night of music, theatre, and celebration with An Evening of JOY, raising funds for The Joy of You CIC, a charity dedicated to helping women overcome grief and trauma.

The heartwarming concert will be hosted by the longest reigning champion of Drag Idol UK, and cabaret star Karla Bear who will be joined by some of the West End’s biggest artists for some exclusive performances, including Claire Moore, (Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon and Les Misérables); Drew Jaymson (Mamma Mia, Taboo and Jesus Christ Superstar); and English National Opera baritone Alaric Green. The evening’s music will be directed by Matt Smith (Dear Evan Hansen, School of Rock, Ain’t Too Proud), with music from West End hits to George Michael classics.

English sparkling wine and artisan macarons will be served before the performance, and there will also be the chance to win exclusive raffle prizes, including tickets to the following shows:

Every ticket and raffle entry sold will go towards The Joy of You CIC, founded by Sophie Dodds in 2022 after the sudden loss of her father. Through her monthly free clinics as a semi-permanent make-up artist, Sophie’s personalised support brings confidence and happiness to women bearing the physical and emotional scars of trauma, from breast cancer reconstruction to the effects of chemotherapy, domestic abuse, and bereavement. Her mission is to restore female empowerment in the face of the hardest of times. Funds raised from this special evening will go towards opening a London branch, expanding JOY’s reach and impact.
