Magnolia Court Care Home was delighted to host a Curry and Quiz Night on Sunday evening, bringing residents, relatives, staff and guests together for a fun-filled event in support of Barchester’s Charitable Foundation.
Guests enjoyed a delicious authentic Sri Lankan chicken and mango curry, lovingly prepared by Magnolia Court’s own Champa and served with rice, poppadoms and mango chutney. The meal was a great success and was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who attended.

The evening’s entertainment came in the form of a lively quiz, featuring eight picture rounds to complete throughout the night, followed by six question rounds after dinner. There was plenty of laughter, a little friendly rivalry and even some sneaky mobile phone use as teams battled it out for the top spot.

After some very close competition, Brook House Care Home in Wembley were announced as the winners. They took home a trophy, chocolates and, of course, the all-important bragging rights.

The event has already raised more than £230 for Barchester’s Charitable Foundation, with more donations still to come. The Foundation helps older people and adults with disabilities or mental health challenges to connect with their communities and access activities, equipment and support that can make a real difference to their lives.

General Manager Wayne Hughes, who also joined in with the evening, said: “It was such a lovely evening and I was really pleased to be able to take part myself. There was a real sense of fun in the room, with everyone enjoying Champa’s delicious curry and getting very competitive during the quiz. It was wonderful to see people coming together to support Barchester’s Charitable Foundation, and we are delighted to have raised over £230 so far.”
