Adorable trio of RSPCA rescue kittens are the stars of a new Omaze advert

A trio of adorable kittens abandoned in London are the stars of a new Omaze Million Pound House Draw Lake District home advert which will raise vital funds for the RSPCA this Christmas.

The four month old kittens who have been named – Bagheera, Baloo and Louie by their new owners – star alongside actor Asa Butterfield who is supporting the campaign and the charity will receive a guaranteed donation of £1 million from the Omaze Community.

And while one lucky person is guaranteed to win a breathtaking Lake District home worth £4,500,000 plus £250,000 in cash – this trio have already ‘won’ their perfect home just in time for Christmas.

The cute trio have all been rehomed together with the Hamilton family from Surrey, and while they have only been at their new home for a couple of weeks they have already settled in perfectly.

It’s a far cry from when they were first rescued as abandoned kittens and were taken to the RSPCA Finsbury Park Animal Hospital in London where they received expert loving care.

The kittens were only one week old when they were abandoned without their mum in the Tottenham area in July. They were so young they were all very cold and needed round the clock bottle feeding to keep their tiny tums filled. Sadly another kitten in the litter had already passed away.

They were taken to the RSPCA hospital where the staff nursed them back to health. All three were underweight and in need of nourishment and little Louie also had a swollen eye.

During their time at the animal hospital dedicated staff hand-fed them specialist kitten formula every few hours for weeks until they were old enough and strong enough to move on to solid food.

Once they were ready, the mischievous trio were moved on to the team at RSPCA Millbrook Animal Centre in Surrey, but not before their brush with fame where they filmed with actor Asa Butterfield for the Omaze Million Pound House draw.

The kittens won the heart of Asa during the filming, playing and climbing over him during the shoot and he even asked if he could take them home!

Asa added: “Those who know me, know I’ve always been Team Cat. But when it comes to helping animals, I’ll be a voice for them all! I’ve seen the incredible work the RSPCA does, tirelessly rehabilitating thousands of animals rescued from unimaginable cruelty and neglect.

“It can take life-saving surgery, months of medical care, therapy, and endless kindness and love until they can trust again. The RSPCA is needed now, more than ever. Every entry into the Omaze Million Pound House Draw, the Lake District, will help to fund over 38,000 days of care for rescued animals, giving them a second chance at the happiness they deserve.”
Claire Jones, cattery supervisor at Millbrook said: “These poor boys had been through so much in their short lives, but despite this they are all so charming and affectionate they won the heart of everyone here at the centre.

“They were affectionately known as the little TV stars -given that they had taken part in this important campaign raising vital money for the RSPCA this Christmas. It’s – lovely to think that as a result more RSPCA rescue animals will benefit from amazing donations.

“They were such a bonded trio, given what they had been through so it was essential they would be adopted together so they would always have their best friends by their side.

“While taking on three kittens is a big commitment we knew there would be someone out there who would want to bring triple fun to their family.

“Thankfully it didn’t take them long to find their perfect family and we are delighted that they are now in their new home just in time for Christmas.

“It really is the purrfect festive news that they have a new home and their story will help hundreds of other RSPCA rescue pets as well.”

The trio have been adopted by Nikki and her husband Craig, and son Will. And after only two weeks the kittens have settled in famously in their new home.

Nikki said: “Last year had been incredibly difficult as we had lost our dog and two cats during that time, and we were all just heartbroken and it took a long while to get over the grief of losing our beloved pets.

“But the house always felt empty without any animals in the home and so the time was eventually right to start looking. Originally we had planned to take on two cats but then we saw the boys and just thought ‘what’s one more’.

“So we arranged to visit them at Millbrook and it was love at first sight. The tabby came straight up and sat across my shoulders. The ginger sat on my son and the black one ran up our legs. We all walked out of the pen and just said ‘when can we take them home?”’.

“They have settled in beautifully and purr their little hearts out. It’s like they have always been here, they are very affectionate and their little characters are already shining through. Louie is more laid back, Baghera is certainly the more confident although he is the smallest and Balo is the explorer. We are delighted to have them.

“They are very spoiled. We’ve bought a copious amount of toys for them and a new cat tree and scratch pad!

“We are a family of animal lovers and have always had rescues and have also fostered in the past. My other son Alex and his wife Sophie are coming over with our two grandsons Rory and Teddy and they are so excited to meet the newest members of our family.

“They kittens really do play well together and they have been so affectionate from day one. On the very first day all three sat on my husband’s lap, as all animals seem to gravitate to him. As there are three though I usually have one come and join me on the sofa as well.

“It’s just wonderful to have them in our home and in time for Christmas we are grateful to the RSPCA for all their dedicated care in rehabilitating them and it’s lovely to think they will be in the Omaze advert and in turn will be able to help more rescue animals just like them.”

This is Omaze’s third partnership with the RSPCA – who will receive a guaranteed donation of £1,000,000 from the Omaze Community.

Every penny donated will help support the RSPCA’s rehabilitation work, providing hundreds of neglected and abused animals with bespoke physical, emotional and behavioural care, allowing them to heal and find a better future.

James Oakes, President of Omaze of Omaze, said: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with the RSPCA once again for our latest Omaze Million Pound House Draw. This Lake District retreat is a truly special property in one of the most spectacular parts of the country.
“The eventual winner is free to choose if they want to move in, rent it out, or sell up and walk away a multimillionaire – the life changing choice is entirely theirs.
“Omaze gives people the chance to win life-changing prizes, while also raising significant funds for incredible causes. Thanks to the generosity of the Omaze community, we’ve now raised over £100 million for good causes across the UK.”
