Become a ‘Master Chef’ with Barratt London’s Festival of Culture Cookery Class

The third event of Barratt London’s Festival of Culture is due to take place on Sunday 29th November at 11am and will be streamed from the housebuilder’s Ridgeway Views development in Mill Hill. Following on from the success of the Festival’s previous Jazz Brunch and art class livestreams, the next instalment is a cookery class hosted by 2018 MasterChef: The Professional’s contestant Ian Samuels.

Private caterer Ian has been a chef for over 29 years. He provides a range of catering services from romantic dinners for two on Valentine’s Day, to birthday parties and weddings. Ian also teaches cookery classes for children and adults with an interest in food.

Ian Samuels, chef and private caterer, comments: “I often teach cookery classes in person, but after all the changes this year we have all had to adapt and I am excited to try something new by teaching a virtual class. I hope all those who tune in enjoy making my recipes at home.”

For the class, Ian has set a menu of texture of cauliflower soup to start; beef fillet with caramelized shallots, parsnips, cauliflower purée and micro cress as the main; and will finish with a light cheesecake for dessert.

Barratt London’s Festival of Culture will conclude two weeks after the cookery class with a carol concert performed by members of London youth choir Invicta Voices on Sunday 13th December at 11am.

Pam Reardon, Sales and Marketing Director at Barratt East London, said: “While restaurants and pubs remain closed for the second lockdown period people find themselves cooking far more at home. We hope this event gives them something a bit more exciting to cook, I know I can’t wait to try it!”
