Calong, Stoke Newington, welcomes three new dishes to its ever-popular Korean-fusion menu

Calong, the intimate, Michelin-recommended Korean restaurant on Stoke Newington Church Street, is introducing three new dishes to its menu, as husband-and-wife owners Joo and Sujin continue to evolve their offering with the seasons.

The new dishes showcase Calong’s distinctive approach to Korean cooking, bringing together Korean flavours, European techniques and ingredients with influences from Joo and Sujin’s experience in some of London’s most respected kitchens. New additions include flamed badger beetroot with Tropea onion, fig, Gorgonzola dolce and ssamjang romesco; grilled pork belly jeyuk with braised pepper and perilla; and king prawn and cabbage jjamppong.

The new menu comes at an exciting time for the 30-cover restaurant, which has continued to attract attention since opening. Calong was awarded a Bib Gourmand in February 2026, and has most recently been included in The Good Food Guide’s 100 Best Local Restaurants in Britain 2026, further cementing its reputation as one of Stoke Newington’s most talked-about restaurants.

These fresh dishes join Calong’s well-praised menu of Korean-inspired cooking which always includes a rotating showstopper desert, showcasing Sujin and Joo’s French pastry training, as well as permanent favourites like Joo’s fried chicken with sweet chilli and peanut.

Alongside the food, Calong offers a carefully selected list of low-intervention white, orange and red wines from small independent producers, with a secret wine cellar hidden within the restaurant for those in the know.

With just 30 covers, Calong offers a relaxed neighbourhood dining experience centred around original takes on Korean flavours. Since opening, its rotating menu has soared with locals, visitors and media alike – and these new dishes promise to keep up the momentum.
