Campo Viejo Launches ‘Sobremesa’ in London; The Longer You Stay, The Less You Pay

This October, Campo Viejo, the wine brand from Spain’s Rioja region, is bringing the spirit of sobremesa to London with a dining experience where the longer guests stay, the less they pay.

Created with Spanish chef José Pizarro, the two-night experience pairs tapas with Campo Viejo wines and is inspired by the Spanish tradition of staying at the table after a meal to talk, relax and enjoy each other’s company.
Challenging the typical rushed conventions in the capital, sobremesa is a Spanish mindset centred around enjoying the art of a meaningful meal. The experience invites Londoners to slow down, take their time over their meal and conversations at the dinner table, and enjoy being together long after the plates are cleared.

Campo Viejo will also be offering a Sobremesa Discount for guests who lean into the Spanish tradition and spend more time at the table. The longer diners stay during their booking, the more they can save from their bill.
30–60 minutes: 25% discount
60–90 minutes: 50% discount
90 minutes or more: 75% discount

José Pizarro, chef and restaurateur, said: “One of the things I love most about Spanish culture is the way we make time for one another, especially around the table. Sobremesa is such a simple but important part of that. It’s the idea that a meal doesn’t have to end when the plates are cleared. It’s about staying a little longer, enjoying another glass of wine, continuing the conversation and appreciating the people you’re with. Together with Campo Viejo, we want to bring a taste of that Spanish way of life to London and encourage people to linger a little longer, enjoy great food and wine, and simply savour the moment.”
