Slàinte Mhath! With Burn’s Night just around the corner (25th January), Sam’s Waterside in Brentford and Sam’s Riverside in Hammersmith are both offering exceptionally curated three course menus, whisky cocktails plus live bagpipes from Robin Turnball, all for £65pp across both locations.
At Sam’s Riverside in Hammersmith, diners can enjoy a welcome dram of Woven whisky, before diving into Head Chef Karol Mielczarek’s exceptional food offering. Standout starters include Smoked Haddock Cullen Skink, Lincolnshire Pacher Cheddar & Leek Tart, or Gin and Juniper Cured Scottish Salmon. For the main course, there is a choice of Homemade Vegetarian Haggis, Scottish Steelhead Trout, Scottish Rump of Lamb or the full works – Rabbie Burns Supper with Neeps and Tatties Terrine. And to finish on a sweet note, guests can enjoy Winter Fruit Cranachan, a Clootie Dumpling with Clotted Cream or Dark Chocolate and Shortbread Tart with Oat Crème Fraîche.
Over at Sam’s Waterside in Brentford, Head Chef Abbie Hendren is also cooking up a feast. After a welcome Woven whisky dram, guests will be treated to Scottish Morning Rolls and salted Stirling butter. A selection of starters includes Tattie Soup, Cured Steelhead Trout, or Aberdeen Angus Beef Carpaccio. Onto mains, guests can enjoy a Saddle of Highland Venison with Rumbledethumps and Haggis Bridie, Isle of Gigha Halibut or Heather Honey Glazed Neeps. Rounding off the menu is classic Tipsy Laird, Warm Dundee Cake with Marmalade Ice Cream, or an indulgent Scottish Cheese Plate.
A trio of whisky cocktails are available at each location to complement the menu: Try the Bonnie Moor-Hen – named after Scotland’s iconic moor-hen and blending Scotch whisky, orange liqueur, honey, cinnamon and fresh citrus. Or indulge in a Penicillin – a modern Scottish classic of a smoky-sweet short drink shaken with blended Scotch, lemon, honey, and ginger, then topped with a float of peated whisky. And for a real knockout (literally), opt for the Rob Roy – a short cocktail of Scotch whisky, sweet vermouth and aromatic bitters.
Tables are available to book from 6:30pmto 8:30pm. Bagpiper Robin will be playing at Riverside at 7pm and 8:30pm, and Waterside at 7:45pm and 9:15pm.
So head to Sam’s this Burn’s Night and eat, drink and celebrate with friends and family. And the best bit? Enjoy traditional Scottish songs such as Auld Lang Syne (written by Robert Burn’s himself) from renowned bagpiper Robin Turnball.
