De Nadas to bring a touch of Buenos Aries to Kew

De Nadas, the UK’s first empanadería specialising in Argentinian hand-shaped empanadas, is opening a fifth shop, next to Kew Gardens station this November.

All shaped-by-hand, De Nadas makes 15 different empanadas with meat, vegetarian and plant-based fillings, as well as sweet and special guest empanadas, which are all baked, and not fried.

The new location will open in the former Pether butcher shop, honouring its legacy while also offering Argentinian beef and criollo sausages for customers to cook at home. This is in addition to coffee, vermouth, South American wines, including De Nadas’ very own Malbec, and Argentinian essentials; alfajores, chimichurri, Dulce de Leche and Yerbe Mate. As well as takeaway, the shop will have a seating area in the front and the back of the shop.

Empanada fillings include Classic Beef, Ham & Cheese, Chorizo and Spicy Lamb as well as Blue Cheese & Pear, Malbec Onions & Smoked Cheddar, Creamy Spinach, Caprese and Vegan Squash & Kale. Empanadas can be bought individually or in bundles of three, six or 12, or bigger orders for events.

De Nadas Kew will also feature its weekday Lunch Boxes, which include three empanadas and salad from Monday to Friday, 12-3pm. There will also be Kid’s Meals to keep the little ones happy with empanadas, juice and ice cream – and free self-serve popcorn, or pochoclo as its known in Argentina. Locals can also expect regular wine tastings from some of the best producers in Argentina including Zuccardi.

De Nadas was founded by Nako Martinez, Nico Buyo and Annabel Fox in 2022, with an ambition to bring the cult-status of empanadas to London. Their first shop in Notting Hill’s Golborne Rd was followed by Shoreditch, Stoke Newington Church Street and Bethnal Green, where all their empanadas are made.
