Ealing baker takes home some serious dough
A London baker in need knead of some dough is celebrating after winning £15,000 thanks to dream car competition, BOTB.
Alessio Esposito, who lives in North Acton and runs a bakery in the capital, has only been playing the game a few weeks when he won the huge £15,000 cash boost.
“I just cannot believe it,” said Alessio after hearing the news.
“I was literally in the middle of baking when I got the call – it’s non-stop at the moment as we’re getting ready for the restaurants to re-open this weekend.”
The 26-year-old runs Sumeria Bakehouse which he opened last year after moving to the UK six years ago, following his dreams of owning his own bakery.
Originally from Palma Campania in Italy, Alessio is using the cash to fly home as soon as the borders open to see his family for the first time this year.
“Lockdown has been really difficult for me, not only financially, but also emotionally as I haven’t been able to see my family since last year,” he said.
Sumeria Bakehouse supplies various breads to local restaurants and also sells to the public at local markets.
“The markets and restaurants have been closed now for months so in order to keep my business going I had to set up an online and home delivery service but my income was just not the same.
“This £15,000 boost could not have come at a better time – thank you BOTB.”
