Something new is coming to Elephant & Castle this November, as The Elephant Exchange opens its doors with 14 food kitchens, drinks, entertainment and a dedicated space for the local community.
The new food hall, from Blend Family, will be a vibrant destination where people from all cultures and communities come together. Guests can look forward to flavours from across the globe and events designed for every age and interest. The team is committed to making it a true neighbourhood space, a welcoming hub for people who live and work in the area.
At the heart of The Elephant Exchange will be a dedicated community space, and Blend Family is looking for local groups to make it their own.
Whether it’s a book club, parent group, creative workshop, local charity, club or something completely different. The team is inviting people across Elephant & Castle to get in touch and help shape a space that brings the community together.
Matt Bigland and Nina Patel-Bigland, co-founders of Blend Family, said: “We’ve always believed that our food halls should be about so much more than food. They’re places where people can come together and feel part of something. That sense of community is at the heart of everything we do.
That’s why the community space at The Elephant Exchange means so much to us. We want it to become a place that people genuinely feel is theirs, whether that’s a local group meeting every week, a charity running an event or people simply coming together around something they care about.
“We’d love to hear from the Elephant & Castle community and, most importantly, give them the opportunity to shape how the space comes to life.”
The Elephant Exchange will bring 14 Food Partners together under one roof, serving up flavours from around the world, alongside a central bar and plenty of places to sit and socialise. The space will also feature communal tables, more relaxed seating areas, TVs, a photo booth and flexible space for entertainment and events.
The Elephant Exchange will be Blend Family’s second London food hall, following Tower Bridge Collective, and joins its food halls across the UK, including Cutlery Works and Cambridge Street Collective in Sheffield, Kargo MKT in Salford Quays and Alfred Works in Digbeth.
For Blend Family, the new opening continues its focus on creating food halls that feel different depending on where they are, with each one shaped around the local area and the people who use it.
The Elephant Exchange opens in Elephant & Castle in November 2026. More details on the Food Partners, opening events and what’s coming to the community space will be announced soon.
