Galvin Bistrot & Bar celebrates Beaujolais Nouveau Day with a Bistrot classics menu

Galvin Bistrot & Bar, the Spitalfields Bistrot from Michelin-starred brothers Chris and Jeff Galvin, will celebrate Beaujolais Nouveau Day (19 November) – one of the French wine calendar’s best-loved traditions – with a dedicated menu marking the release of this year’s Beaujolais Nouveau.

Beaujolais Nouveau is released every year at midnight on the third Thursday of November – this year, Thursday 19 November 2026 – with wine bars and restaurants across France and beyond marking the occasion with the cry of “Le Beaujolais Nouveau est arrivé!”. Made from Gamay grapes harvested just weeks earlier in the Beaujolais region of eastern France, the wine is fresh, fruit-forward and designed to be drunk young, making it a seasonal highlight for wine lovers each autumn.

At Galvin Bistrot & Bar on Spital Square, the celebration runs from breakfast through to dinner. A dedicated Beaujolais Nouveau breakfast menu will be available featuring viennoiserie, oeufs meurette, croque monsieur and croque madame, a Toulouse sausage roll served with Edmond Fallot mustard, scrambled eggs with truffle, and artisan charcuterie.

For lunch and dinner, a three-course Beaujolais Nouveau menu will be offered at £35.00 per person, comprising terrine de campagne with salad Lyonnaise, coq au vin, and apple tarte Tatin with crème fraîche – classic French dishes chosen to complement the light, fruity character of the new wine.

Galvin Bistrot & Bar is a relaxed and welcoming Mediterranean-style brasserie offering great quality food at an affordable price, just moments from Spitalfields Market. With its outdoor terrace, classic Mediterranean dishes, and friendly, informal service, it’s the perfect spot for everything from leisurely lunches and after-work cocktails to casual dinners and private celebrations.

The Beaujolais Nouveau breakfast, lunch and dinner menus will be available at Galvin Bistrot & Bar on Thursday 19 November 2026.
