HagenHinderdael enters 12 Piccadilly Arcade, W1 London, for creative design pop up

award-winning creative design practice HagenHinderdael.

They will be opening a pop-up studio at 12 Piccadilly Arcade, located between iconic Piccadilly and Jermyn Street – one of the most fashionable and historic streets in London. The unique retail experience will be open for a month period in October.

Since January 2022, Westminster City Council, GPE, Heart of London Business Alliance and Appear Here have invited emerging creative brands, all of whom are passionate about craftsmanship, creativity & sustainability, to take over unit 12 in Piccadilly Arcade and deliver a pop up boutique for a one month residency. HagenHinderdael is the 10th brand in the series, with the final two for November and December to be announced soon.

HagenHinderdael exhibits a range of sculptural products and installations by architects and urban designers Sofia Hagen and Lisa Hinderdael, that explore the relationship of immersive art and biophilic design. Merging sustainable materials with traditional craftsmanship and innovative technology, Sofia and Lisa push the boundaries of engineering whilst bearing the incentive of a continuous afterlife.

As a creative practice, Sofia and Lisa thrive to be earth-conscious designers of the future: always designing with the ethos of a circular economy in mind. From 3D printing medical tray waste through large-scale robotic manufacturing to featuring slimline OLED lighting technology within their lights, HagenHinderdael integrates cutting-edge sustainable materials and technologies into their products.

Sofia Hagen comments, “Being in the heart of such an historic architectural hub is the ideal location to showcase our work and we know you won’t be disappointed by what we have to share! We thank Westminster City Council for giving us this incredible opportunity.”

Key exhibited designs include; BOLLA, the winner of the LAMP Awards 2020 in the people’s choice category, and CONTOUR, displayed in Milan Design Week this year, which takes inspiration from the surrounding mountainous landscape of Voralberg and transforms it into functional bench seating for indoor and outdoor use. COCOON, on display at Minotti London, is the world’s first 3d printed sawdust decorative light celebrating an innovative way to reduce timber waste through rethinking deforestation and the take and make production process.
