British-Italian conductor and keyboard virtuoso Julian Perkins, who has been praised for his passionate interpretations and bold musical vision, joins distinguished mezzo-soprano Diana Moore, whose rich, expressive voice has made her a leading interpreter of Handel across Europe and North America. They will be performing together in the historic setting of Handel’s House in Mayfair, as they present an evocative tribute to the composer in the place, he once called home.
As Joanna Roche, Commercial and Marketing Manager, Handel Hendrix House adds: “Experience Baroque music as never before in the intimate and evocative setting of Handel’s own home in Mayfair. This unique concert series offers a rare chance to hear leading performers up close, surrounded
by the very walls that once echoed with Handel’s own music-making. With its historic charm and unparalleled atmosphere, Handel’s House provides the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable encounter with the drama, beauty, and brilliance of Baroque music.”
While Julian Perkins also includes: “Imagine playing in an intimate, panelled room where life-enhancing operas, oratorios, cantatas and instrumental works were both conceived and rehearsed. Add an original Kirckman harpsichord surrounded by oil paintings – including a Canaletto – and you can appreciate what a privilege it is to perform in Handel’s music room. His home continues to be a veritable artistic Mecca in the midst of Mayfair.”
