Heracles, the new men’s healthcare provider, today announces the launch of a ‘first-of-its-kind’ UK service combining at-home PSA testing with longitudinal urinary symptom monitoring to make prostate health monitoring more accessible and will help men identify when further clinical assessment may be appropriate.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK, with around one in eight men expected to be diagnosed during their lifetime. The UK currently has no population-wide prostate cancer screening programme.
The launch of the prostate screening service is an extension of Heracles’ low testosterone and erectile dysfunction treatments, and weight management provision.
The UK men’s health market has attracted significant investment, with digital treatment brands raising more than £120 million in disclosed funding. However, much of the sector remains focused on individual conditions and treatment pathways rather than longitudinal, specialist men’s healthcare.
Heracles is designed to bridge that gap with personalised and specialist care informed and provided by some of the world’s leading doctors in urology, andrology and endocrinology, as well as a team of diet and mental health professionals. Its mission is to become the most trusted name in UK men’s health.
Heracles’ new service is designed to make prostate health monitoring more accessible, combining PSA testing with assessment of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) and providing a pathway to further clinical assessment where appropriate.
Tom Pascoe, co-founder and chief executive of Heracles said, “Men in the UK typically die four years earlier than women. We want to close that gap by empowering men to take charge of their health and be a true partner for them throughout their lives, not just one-off health events.”
“The business we’ve built supports men across that whole journey, providing specialist care that encapsulates hormones, prostate, sleep, nutrition, exercise and mental health, because they are all connected to men living healthier, more fulfilled lives. We plan to launch new health services over the next six months to support more men.”
Professor Tet Yap, co-founder of Heracles said, “It is vitally important that men across the UK have access to science-backed resources to improve their health, as well as measures that support prevention and early intervention of men’s health conditions.”
“We created Heracles to give every man the opportunity to lead a healthier life through informed decision making about diet, exercise, sleep and hormones, and to receive screening for potentially life changing or debilitating conditions, so that no man is left behind.”
