INTERNATIONAL EVENTS FIRM LOOKING TO THE FUTURE WITH SUPPORT FROM LLOYDS BANK - London TV

INTERNATIONAL EVENTS FIRM LOOKING TO THE FUTURE WITH SUPPORT FROM LLOYDS BANK

An international events business is continuing to work on vital projects and is looking forward to a busy 2021 – including the postponed Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo – after securing a multimillion pound working capital facility from Lloyds Bank.

London-based ES Global provides staging and structures for both domestic and international events. The business worked on the 2016 Olympics and Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro and the construction of the International Velodrome in Jakarta in 2018. Having also worked on London 2012, the company was due to be involved in setting up the triathlon, golf and shooting events at its third Games this summer until, with work almost complete, it was postponed to next year as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. The funding package from Lloyds Bank will enable the business to navigate the disruption caused whilst continuing to operate and expand in the UK and abroad.

ES Global has also had a big role to play closer to home during the coronavirus disruption.

Most recently, the company provided the infrastructure, staging and platforms for the new Virgin Money Unity Arena in Newcastle, the UK’s first socially distanced outdoor venue, which opened in August. The arena can currently hold up to 2,500 people, watching from 500 platforms that are each spaced two metres apart.

It was also the principle contractor for the construction of the Dragon’s Heart Hospital in Cardiff in April, delivering 200 beds in the first week. This increased to 2,000 beds the following month.

Since starting out in 2012, ES Global’s annual turnover has grown to around £50million. ES Global has been a customer of Lloyds Bank for seven years.

Jeff Burke, director at ES Global, said: “Following the success of the London and Rio Games, we were all set to do even more in Tokyo. Then coronavirus hit and everything was pushed back. Lloyds Bank has been by our side right the way through, and this latest support has provided the comfort and confidence to target new contracts as our reputation continues to grow worldwide.”

Martin Davies, relationship director at Lloyds Bank, added: “The prestige and scale of some of the projects Jeff and the team at ES Global have worked on speaks for itself. We are proud to support them to keep growing and contributing to so many complex and household name events.”
